Pavement Maintenance Program (PMP) 2003 – Present
Kelleher has successfully managed the completion of multiple PMP projects at various CSX Intermodal Terminals for the past 20 years. Our continued success can be, in part, attributed to the network of reputable contractors we have developed to serve numerous markets in the eastern portion of the country. Projects vary in size and scope based on priority and available budget. The primary scopes of services utilized are stabilization, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) paving, Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) paving, Underground structures and Storm Sewer.
CSX Intermodal Terminal Bedford Park, IL Tracks 3 and 5 Crane way Reconstruction, 2018
This project is the recipient of an American Concrete Pavement Association “Excellence in Concrete Paving, Industrial Paving” Award. The two-season-long project consisted of two phases in equal length comprising half the length of the terminal in each phase. The section design constructed consisted of 12” lime modified subgrade, 8” cement stabilized aggregate base, and 21.5” inches of continuously reinforced concrete. Demolition and reconstruction were phased and coordinated to minimize impact to terminal operations. Concrete pours were around 3,000 cubic yards each, placed with a combination of tele-belt and chute. Our contractor utilized machine control tied into GPS survey equipment to vibrate and screed the concrete. Phase 2 of the project was completed in 4 months, which was 1.5 months ahead of the anticipated schedule.
